Keynote Address
H.E. Yoshihiko NodaPrime Minister of Japan
Yoshihiko Noda is a graduate of Waseda University and the Matsushita Institute of Government and Management. Elected to the Chiba Prefectural Assembly for the first time in 1987, he was re-elected in 1991 and then in 1993 elected to the Lower House of the Diet (House of Representatives) as a member of the Japan New Party, of which he is one of the founders. Since 2000 he has sat in Parliament in the Democratic Party group. DPJ Shadow Minister for Administrative and Regulatory Reform (2001) and shadow DPJ Finance Minister (2004), he was appointed Deputy Finance Minister by Mr Hatoyama in 2009. He was the Finance Minister of Prime Minister Naoto Kan. He is the Prime Minister of Japan since August 2011.
