Tom AakerCEO, Standard Chartered Indonesia

Tom Aaker is Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Indonesia. Tom is a United States citizen and took on his current role in mid-December 2009 after transferring from the Middle East, where he was CEO of Standard Chartered Bank’s operations in Qatar and North Africa for the last two years.

Prior to this Tom was CEO and Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank in Zambia from mid-2004. Tom joined Standard Chartered Bank in1993 and has held a number of senior positions in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and the United States, including Group Corporate Treasurer, based in London. He has a total of 24 years working in the finance and banking sectors and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University in Chicago, USA.
