Jakob Friis Sorensen

Jakob Friis Sorensen, born in 1966, has been with the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group since 1987. He is currently the President Director for Maersk Indonesia.

Jakob Friis Sorensen started his career at the A.P. Moller Shipping School in Copenhagen, Denmark. In his 20-year long career with the Group, Jakob has spent a majority of his time in Asia, working on establishing and building up the Maersk Logistics organisation. His other main focus areas have been sales and customer relationship development with major Supply Chain development clients, such as IKEA, Nike, Adidas, Target Stores, Wal-Mart and Mattel. Positions held by Jakob include General Manager of Sales in Japan, Managing Director of Maersk Logistics in India and more recently, Director for Maersk Logistics in South-east Asia.

Jakob Friis Sorensen was appointed the President Director of Maersk Indonesia in May 2006. He is responsible for the legal entities in Indonesia, Government and other external stakeholder relations, development and execution of country strategy in all regions of Indonesia for Container Business and related activities. Container Business includes brands such as Maersk Line and Maersk Logistics.
